About the role
The Manufacturing Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for coordinating all EHS programs across the Saint Peters Manufacturing site. The incumbent leads the deployment of global & regional strategy for embedding a Safety-First culture where each member of the team actively owns Safety and seeing its implementation across the site. This position is responsible for leading the design and implementation of a transformational culture for health and safety programs, as well as environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives. They demonstrate the leadership behaviors, acting as a key member of the site leadership team partnering to meet all site KPI’s, while ensuring the development of a strong talent pipeline and an engaged team.
Your responsibilities
- Participate as a key member of the Saint Peters Factory Site Leadership Team; drive strategic direction and vision of the site to meet site targets.
- Partner with cross functional teams to foster a Safety-First culture through listening, education and training, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Works closely with the global EHS team(s) to support the business strategy under its scope of control, securing the deployment of initiatives, Reckitt global standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support the safe start-up of the facility and facilitate the development and follow up of the site EHS improvement plan.
- Manage the sustainability roadmap across the site to meet business commitment while ensuring compliance with local regulations. ISO 14001 and 45001 certification requirements including the management of hazardous materials and waste, their proper handling, storage and disposal.
- Lead the site EHS Team. Develop and execute long-term plans related to succession planning and team development, cost management, facility improvements, equipment upgrades and regulation changes.
- Effectively communicate and review the functional and financial performance of the EHS department and programs, manages the tools and processes to monitor key performance indicators.
- Establish and implement EHS strategic continuous improvement plans. Explores industry trends, develops strategies, and drives the adoption of leading EHS technology.
- Understand the continuous improvement (CI) methodologies and use them to drive sustained results, including continuous Safety related training & learning
- Lead the Environmental Health & Safety Management System for the site including contracted Occupational Health programs and teams.
- Implement training programs to educate employees on EHS best practices.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures for all the sites.
- Audit EHS systems and programs to ensure compliance to internal and external standards.
- Actively participate in the development of the fixed departmental and capital budgets and administer the approved budget under its responsibility including capital expense requests.
- Ensure that all physical assets of the site are effectively protected and maintained from a safety perspective.
- Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensures compliance with state, federal and local regulations (i.e. NC DOL, EPA, RCRA, NFPA, etc.) and internal standards, coordinating maintenance of ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications.
The experience we're looking for
- Degree level qualified, in an Occupational Health and Safety, Environment, Industrial Management, Engineering or other related discipline is required.
- 7+ years managerial experience in various areas of health and safety.
- In-depth knowledge of EHS&S regulations and standards. Certification in relevant EHS&S disciplines is a plus (e.g. CSP) or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Desirable to have project management experience. Engineering experience a plus.
- Good knowledge of core H&S programs within manufacturing environments: Emergency Planning & Response, Risk Assessment, Contractor Safety, Machine Guarding, Lock-Out / Tag-Out, Warehouse & Powered Industrial Vehicles, Chemical Management and Process Safety.
- Good knowledge of Environmental permitting, maintenance, and reporting requirements regarding Air Emissions, Wastewater management, and the RCRA requirements for large quantity generators of hazardous waste
- This role is not currently sponsoring visas or considering international movement at this time.

US salary ranges
USD$110,000-$168,000
US pay transparency
The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
