About the role
The Manufacturing Technician is a critical step in the development towards more senior operations roles. This role is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The position supports continuous improvement, preventive maintenance, and compliance with safety, quality, and GMP standards while helping meet production and customer service objectives.
Your responsibilities
- Perform root cause analysis, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repairs to minimize downtime.
- Complete changeovers, maintain accurate maintenance records, and support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize line performance.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including PPE, HAZCOM, LOTO, machine guarding, and emergency response requirements.
- Report unsafe conditions, participate in safety audits and meetings, and support environmental, health, and safety objectives.
- Follow production documentation, work instructions, control plans, and GMP guidelines to ensure product quality and minimize waste.
The experience we're looking for
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience.
- Ability to operate packaging lines and related equipment, including startup, shutdown, manual operations, and jam clearing.
- Experience with changeovers, washouts, preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and equipment adjustments to maximize uptime.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, initiative, and ability to manage work independently.
- Proficient in using electronic devices for data entry and reporting.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and industrial safety procedures.
The skills for success
- Ability to work a standard 40-hour workweek, with overtime and weekend work as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and perform frequent reaching, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with typical factory noise and temperature conditions.
- Consistently follow PPE requirements and all workplace safety standards.
