About the role

The Packaging Technician is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing packaging equipment to support safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations. This role performs equipment startups, changeovers, shutdowns, basic maintenance, and CIL (Clean, Inspect, Lubricate) activities while adhering to safety, quality, and operational standards. As skills and experience grow, the Packaging Technician advances through defined skill levels, demonstrating increased technical expertise, independence, and contribution to continuous improvement initiatives.

Your responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor packaging equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production, including equipment startups, shutdowns, product changeovers, and routine machine operation in accordance with safety, quality, and operating standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform basic maintenance activities, and support equipment reliability through inspections, corrective actions, and Clean, Inspect, Lubricate (CIL) processes.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety requirements, including PPE usage, lockout/tagout procedures, behavioral safety programs, housekeeping standards, and timely reporting of incidents or unsafe conditions.
  • Utilize HMI systems and established centerlines to optimize equipment performance, achieve production and OEE targets, and identify operational losses, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improved efficiency.
  • Ensure product quality and regulatory compliance by performing line clearances, routine quality checks, completing required documentation, and adhering to GMP, ISO, Micro-B, and Reckitt standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance safety, quality, reliability and equipment performance

The experience we're looking for

  • Manufacturing or packaging experience preferred.
  • Previous experience operating, adjusting, troubleshooting, and optimizing liquid filling, capping, labeling, and packaging equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of safety requirements, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform equipment startups, shutdowns, changeovers, line clearances, routine inspections, and basic preventive maintenance while maintaining production efficiency, product quality, and compliance with established procedures.
  • Working knowledge of production documentation, batch records, quality inspection processes, and the ability to identify and resolve minor mechanical or operational issues to minimize downtime and support production targets.
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment to safely move raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing setting.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
