About the role

A packaging engineer has an active role in managing new NPI projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams with responsibilities in creating packaging specifications for Primary, Secondary and Tertiary items. 

Your responsibilities

- Design and development experience: Create and develop packaging designs for new and existing products – including for E-commerce business.

- Material selection: Source and evaluate a variety of packaging materials with supplier’s support, considering factors like cost, sustainability, and performance.

- Specification and testing: Develop packaging specifications,  conduct trials to ensure packaging meets all requirements and regulations.

- Cross-functional collaboration: Work with teams like marketing, Category, R&D, Quality and manufacturing to align packaging with product and shipping needs.

- Lead packaging material laboratory tests, packaging line trials and transport tests during implementation phase. 

- Project management: Manage packaging projects, including timelines and budgets, from conception to production.

- Documentation: Maintain all packaging-related documentation and records. 

- Identify and deliver packaging cost savings initiatives.

- Support Quality Team to improve consume experience and costumers requirements.

The experience we're looking for

• At least 3 years in Packaging business.
• Fluent in Italian and English

The skills for success

- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and testing procedures.

- Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 

- Experience with relevant software, such as PLM, SAP and design software

- Route – Couse approach in problem-solving
