About the role
Reckitt is looking for a dynamic leader to drive continuous improvement in food safety and compliance at our Wanamingo site. This role offers the opportunity to lead environmental monitoring, provide technical advice, and collaborate globally to ensure the highest standards in microbiological safety and quality. Your responsibilities
- Leads site in review of Environmental Monitoring data and works with the site to identify and drive continuous improvement activities to improve compliance to internal food safety standards.
- Represents Wanamingo as part of the Global Mead Johnson Microbiological Community and provides advice on microbiological test methodology.
- Serves as part of the Quality unit to perform inspections of operations to verify start up conditions.
- Provides technical advice to Wanamingo Supply Center, Plant Sanitation Technician to drive continuous improvement of facility sanitation systems through microbiological data analysis.
- Conducts troubleshooting on food safety issues and make decisions in a rapid, complex environment.
- Represents QA on capital project teams for the review of food safety requirements and impact to HACCP or Prerequisite programs.
- Works with site, Regional, and Global Quality to communicate Factory Microbiology Metrics to drive awareness on performance of MJN sites in meeting microbiological related KPI' s.
- Occasional travel to third party manufacturing locations may be required.
- Leads Wanamingo plant HACCP team in hazard analysis process and in the development of the detailed HACCP documentation.
- Works to ensure HACCP and Prerequisite programs are routinely reviewed as part of the Change Control program. Partners with plant to drive gap closure.
- Develops verification and validation program for Control Points and Critical Control Points to meet regulatory and MJN requirements.
- Coordinates and conducts food safety, microbiology, HACCP, and current Good Manufacturing Practices training for the Wanamingo site.
- Conducts training and ongoing verification of internal GMP audit program.
- Work with site Maintenance to prioritize findings for action.
- Provide leadership to site allergen management program and to QC allergen testing program
- Works with site Quality leadership to develop program strategies and manage day-to-day implementation and execution of the Facility Hygienic Zoning, Good Manufacturing Practices and the Environmental Monitoring Programs.
The experience we're looking for
- Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science, or related degree
- At least a total of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing, sanitation, or quality assurance/quality control. Prior microbiology laboratory work or study preferred.
- The candidate must have profound knowledge in food safety and in quality systems. Knowledge of quality systems such as SAP, GLIMS, and Optiva
- Microbiological knowledge is required.
- Good people development skills and communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience within an FDA regulated environment preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Demonstrates achievements within a competitive business environment where change in business dynamics plays a major role. The individual will have a track record with proven results and achievements
- Strong communication skills with other Quality staff and the ability to interact and work with Quality and Operations staff on a daily basis required.
- Food Safety Preventive Controls (PCQI) is desired
- Formal HACCP training/certification is desired.
- Travel domestically or internationally 5-10%
