About the role

As the Area Tax Compliance and Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for managing tax compliance and reporting across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, ensuring compliance with countries tax laws. Responsible for working with the Tax outsource provider and managing Tax audits within EUANZ, ensuring all company processes are followed. The role will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of service delivery in line with agreed timelines. You will be responsible for motivating and managing Reckitt stakeholders in the provision of accurate and timely information. You will work closely with the Tax Business Partners to understand their requirements and will ensure that all company policies are adhered to. This role demands regional tax knowledge and the ability to lead initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and financial integrity.

Your responsibilities

Tax Compliance
•    Oversee all aspects of direct tax and indirect tax compliance for Europe, Australia and New Zealand with the support of outsource/ co-sourced tax compliance service providers such as 
o    Corporate tax return submissions
o    VAT/GST return submissions 
o    VAT/GST refund claims 
o    informative returns and other statistical filings
o    WHT compliance 
o    Transfer Pricing documentation
•    Review of all tax reporting submissions, including group quarterly tax reporting packs
•    Ensuring completion of direct and indirect tax balance sheet reconciliations 
•    Ensure Tax compliance & Tax reporting KPIs are met 
•    Monitor legislative changes in Tax regulations and implement necessary updates to policies and procedures.
•    Define tax compliance & tax reporting KPIs and escalation routes

Tax provision
•    Review the submission of each high complexity markets tax charge for group tax reporting 
•    Oversee the completion of the reconciliation of the deferred tax and corporate tax balances for each high complexity market
•    Oversee the completion of the tax provision for local statutory accounts and liaising with auditors where required

Tax controversy
•    Supporting tax audits and liaise with Group Tax regarding strategic positions and decisions, working with local advisors where required
Business Partnering
•    Partner with CoE/Market Controllers for tax compliance in the EUANZ Area countries 
•    Align with CoE/Market Controllers on the data needed for tax compliance and the tax deliverables from providers 

Transformation
•    Support Group Tax with implementation and maintenance of tax technology / tax advisory projects / data analytics
•    Manage Tax Controls Framework and all compliance governance
•    Management of the exceptions process (i.e. any deviation from the standard processes), and continually looking for improvement opportunities throughout tax compliance processes

 

The experience we're looking for

•    Significant relevant Tax compliance experience preferable
•    Recognised tax/accounting qualification e.g. CTA
•    Strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills
•    Proven ability to oversee and manage people in a Compliance environment
•    Excellent communication skills at all levels including a wide range of stakeholders 
•    Problem solves within tight deadlines
•    Knowledge and ability to use relevant internal systems
•    Strong influencing skills and well-developed leadership qualities
•    Highly organised, diligent with attention to detail and the ability to maintain these skills whilst working under pressure
•    Strong presentation skills
•    Advanced skills in Excel, Word and Outlook are essential
•    Experience with Microsoft Power Platform/Co-Pilot technology and workflow management solutions is desirable
•    Compliance orientated, auditing and risk management experience
•    People management experience
•    Proven ability to work to on projects / lead projects driving change and delivering to stringent deadline
•    Fluent professional English language skills
