About the role
A Data Governance Office Manager (DGO Mgr) is responsible for helping design, leading and overseeing the implementation and maintenance of the company’s Data Governance (DG) operating model with a keen focus on DG KPIs (key performance indicators). Designs and leads Data Maturity Assessments. Enables DG exception handling. Works along Domain Data Stewards on Data Quality (DQ) frameworks and helps Project Manage data improvements / remediation efforts. Leads DG Communications and plans the delivery of data-related training requirements for DG best practices. It’s also responsible for Business Process Modelling (BPM) tools that will help drive DG audits and maturity.

Your responsibilities
- Design and execute a comprehensive DG operating principles and models, including how to generate and apply policies and standards, and establish procedures for data access, usage, quality, retention, and disposal.
- Evaluate and implement data governance tools to streamline data management processes and support data quality initiatives. This includes Data Cataloguing and Metadata Management to maintain data definitions, lineage, and usage information, facilitating data discovery and understanding.
- Develop and deliver data governance training programs.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate data governance practices into existing processes and systems.
- Identify and mitigate potential data risks associated with data breaches, unauthorized access, and improper data handling.
- Ensure adherence to relevant data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and industry standards, conducting regular compliance audits.
- Define, track and report on DG KPIs.
The experience we're looking for
- 8+ years of experience with 4-6 years working within Data & Analytics environments.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality best practices, and data privacy regulations.
- Proven experience in data management, data modelling, and data architecture.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate with diverse teams
- Ability to analyse complex data issues and develop practical solutions.
- Project Management skills to execute data governance initiatives effectively.
- Technical proficiency in data management tools and technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field.
- Superior analytical skills and attention to detail.
