IT & D

About the role
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Cloud Director to lead our cloud strategy and operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud technologies, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing cloud infrastructure and services. This role will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud environments, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and cost-effective.
Your Responsibilities
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers, architects, and operations staff.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with IT&D and Business teams to drive cloud adoption and transformation.
- Establish and maintain relationships with cloud service providers and vendors.
Strategy and Architecture:
- Define and execute cloud strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain cloud architecture blueprints and roadmaps.
- Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and services.
Platform Engineering:
- Lead the Azure & GCP Platform Engineering teams to design, development, and deployment of cloud platforms.
- Ensure the integration of cloud services with existing infrastructure.
- Oversee the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
Cloud Operations & Security:
- Manage cloud operations to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
- Develop and maintain operational best practices and procedures.
- Monitor cloud environments and respond to incidents and outages.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
FinOps:
- Implement and manage cloud financial operations (FinOps) to optimize cloud spending.
- Develop cost management strategies and provide regular financial reporting.
- Collaborate with finance teams to align cloud spending with business goals.
The experience we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Experience working in Senior Leadership roles in a large global enterprise
- Extensive experience in cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- Proven track record of leading large cloud & infrastructure programmes
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with cloud security, compliance, and cost management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Relevant certifications is a plus (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Architect)
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools and Agile Methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban, SAFE etc)
