About the role

You will be supporting the product groups in driving the digital transformation agenda and enable the unlocking of the value these initiatives will deliver through the R&D digital strategy. With a data driven mindset, you’ll have the freedom to think strategically and define the data profile, identify the data assets in general and specially the Critical Data Elements, and determines the official sources of data in scope to address use case requirements. Defining business rules and standards for relevant data product, prioritises issues to remediate, and oversees remediation planning and implementation.

…you will possess a robust understanding and practical application of Data Governance/Management combined with the ability to define requirements on setting up or enhancing existing data products through working with business and technical partners. Your strong experience applying data solutions to complex business environments and multifunctional teams will help drive value through the R&D function. Your knowledge of the data sources, transformation rules, and uses of the data coupled with experience in having managed data catalogues, business glossaries, data lineage, etc. will ensure that Information Lifecycle management (e.g. data quality, master data management) is embedded across the product stream

Your responsibilities

You will be responsible for …

  • Collaborate with senior Stakeholders to understand the Business needs and improve existing data models
  • Document requirements for new/existing data products in scope of a given area. Retrofit existing data products to be complaint with company standards documentation wise to maintain the data lineage for given data products
  • Identify data duplication between existing data platforms and design new data models to deduplicate common datasets
  • Make sure that the data products are properly catalogued and follow the definition of done principles
  • Be the F.A.I.R. Guardian - ensure that data is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable
  • Identify areas for improvement in current data products
  • Collaborate with others to work on the cross-domain data sharing, identify the needs of other products and make sure data contracts are in place
  • Work closely with the squad (Data Engineers, Scrum Masters and Business Analysts) to make sure data products are being built as per architectural design

The experience we're looking for

 

  • Strong analytical and consulting skills, rooted in ability to draw and communicate insights from multiple data points
  • 4+ years’ experience as a Data Business Analyst
  • 6+ years working as a business analyst or working with Data & Analytics products
  • 6+ years’ experience in a complex IT programme and / or portfolio environment
  • Data management skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure tech stack (Databricks, ADO, ADF)
  • Understanding of Data Mesh concept and F.A.I.R. principle
  • Knowledge and understanding of Data Layers (Medallion Architecture) and Kimball Dimensional Modelling
  • Data modelling skills (conceptual & logical data models, defining keys and dimentional vs transactional tables relations, normalized vs denormalized data)
  • Understanding of PowerBI, basic SQL/R/Python skills to be able to query the tables
  • Superior analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and unconstrained thinking approach
  • Ability to work in a high paced, dynamic environment, change management skills
