About the role
The IT&D Senior Manager - FinOps Global Reckitt Cloud will be responsible for continuous analysis and optimisation of Reckitt's ~£30-40m Multi-Cloud (Azure, AWS & GCP) spend. The role will report directly to the IT&D Director Reckitt Cloud and will be accountable for providing visibility, reporting, standards and optimisation opportunities to all IT&D Product streams and the IT&D Leadership team. They will create dashboards/reports to provide visibility of the budgeted vs actual spend for various stakeholders (platforms/products/leadership) and drive cost optimisation initiatives across the organisation including cultural awareness of FinOps and GreenOps.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise cloud costs and resource efficiency.
- Monitor cloud spend, identify savings opportunities, and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with finance and business teams on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ensure cloud governance, compliance, and adherence to FinOps standards.
- Design and manage cost allocation and chargeback frameworks for financial transparency.
- Work with engineering to right-size resources, automate, and apply cost-saving tools (e.g., RIs, Savings Plans).
- Support and engage the FinOps community to promote best practices and capability building.
- Provide cost visibility and insights to IT&D leadership and stakeholders.
- Align with architects, product leads, and finance partners to drive optimisation and standards.
- Collaborate across IT, engineering, and business units to ensure financial accountability.
- Partner with vendors and procurement to control spend and support sourcing processes (RPI/RFP).
The experience we're looking for
- Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in financial management, cloud cost optimization, or a similar role within the cloud computing industry.
- Strong understanding of cloud services (Azure, AWS & Google Cloud) and their pricing models, including knowledge of resource tagging, cost allocation, and billing mechanisms and committed based discounts.
- Experience on PowerBI and APPTIO (IBM) is preferable.
- Experience in technical understanding of cloud vendor services and ways to be more efficient.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and forecasting, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Solid understanding of financial management principles, budgeting, and cost control methodologies.
- Experience with cloud management platforms and cost optimization tools (e.g., CloudHealth, Cloudability, FinOps Organisation Framework).
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to think strategically and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical knowledge in Multi-Cloud Environments (Azure, AWS & GCP)
- Certification in Azure/AWS/GCP /FinOps practitioner is preferable.
