About the role
The Indirect Tax Manager is responsible for managing EU and UK VAT compliance, supporting global indirect tax initiatives, and leading interactions with tax authorities and external advisors. The role requires strong technical knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate across functions and jurisdictions.
Your responsibilities
EU VAT Compliance and Group Management
• Review and sign off on UK and EU VAT returns for multiple registrations and groups
• Coordinate invoicing and payment processes with the finance team.
• Consolidate returns and liaise with senior stakeholders for approval and intra-company recharges.
Audit & Disclosures
• Act as point of contact for Tax audits and voluntary disclosures.
• Manage audit responses, evidence gathering, and negotiation of assessments.
• Lead internal audits.
Stakeholder and Vendor Management
• Manage advisor and outsource provider relationship: fee negotiation, service monitoring, PO/invoice management.
• Coordinate with SAP and advisor and outsource provider on data and access issues.
Cross-Functional Support
• Work within the Global Tax team to understand tax risks and critical focus areas for an international tax function across multiple locations.
• Drive execution of a communication, education, and training strategy across tax, finance, and the wider business to keep processes aligned with tax expectations.
• Manage process design for all Indirect Tax (VAT) processes, driving standardisation, transformation & process improvement initiatives globally.
• Understand Indirect Tax data, advise on corrections needed, and determine correct VAT treatment of transactions.
• Ensure Reckitt’s processes and systems remain aligned with evolving global tax legislation, specifically E-Invoicing requirements.
The experience we're looking for
• Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Experience in Indirect Tax, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK VAT, EU VAT, and global indirect tax frameworks.
• Experience managing audits, disclosures, and complex advisory matters.
• Technical tax expertise (VAT, reverse charge, e-invoicing).
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Project management and process improvement.
• Experience with SAP, JDE and other tax compliance technology solutions.
• Vendor and contract management.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent professional English language required.
