About the role

As the Manager – RTR Financial Accounting for Global Business Services, you will lead the execution and continuous improvement of core financial accounting processes within the Record-to-Report (RTR) function. You will ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and general ledger substantiation, while driving operational excellence and audit readiness.

You will oversee close calendar activities, variance analysis, and standardized workpaper governance, ensuring alignment with global accounting policies and internal controls. Leveraging ERP and reconciliation platforms, you will champion automation, data integrity, and process standardization across the RTR landscape.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee financial accounting operations across the RTR process, ensuring general ledger integrity and compliance.
  • Review and approve journal entries (recurring and ad hoc), ensuring adherence to policy, cutoffs, and authorization protocols.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliation processes, ensuring timely resolution of open items and robust documentation for audit purposes.
  • Supervise variance and flux analysis, providing strategic insights and audit-ready narratives to support financial reviews.
  • Coordinate audit deliverables and manage Prepared-by-Client (PBC) documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive data quality initiatives, including chart of accounts optimization, coding standardization, and master data governance.
  • Champion process improvement, standardizing journal templates, reconciliation formats, and close checklists to enhance efficiency and control.
  • Ensure strong governance and control frameworks, mitigating compliance risks and reinforcing audit readiness across all RTR activities.

The experience we're looking for

  • Extensive experience in financial accounting, RTR/controllership, or finance operations (shared services/global process experience preferred).
  • Proven expertise in period-end close activities, including journal processing, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP) and documentation standards.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA) and reconciliation tools (e.g., BlackLine), with advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls, audit processes, and workpaper governance.
  • Analytical mindset with a high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate financial narratives and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
