About the role

Are you a self-driven individual with a keen understanding of business and a strong value orientation? As a Senior Data Science Manager, you'll lead by example, driving innovation and crafting cutting-edge solutions to propel our business initiatives forward. This role demands critical thinking, resilience, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment where challenges are met with creativity and determination. 

Your responsibilities

Vision, Strategy, and Goals 

• Define and execute the vision and strategy for the Data Science Chapter, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and driving innovation across the organization. 

People Management 

• Build and nurture a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and professional growth. 

• Mentor and coach team members to unlock their full potential, ensuring a supportive and inclusive work environment. 

• Lead by example, inspiring trust and accountability within the team. 

Stakeholder Collaboration and Capacity Planning 

• Support IT product managers by determining the 'who' and 'how' for executing data science initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and delivering impactful outcomes. 

The experience we're looking for

• Over 8 years of industry experience in data science, preferably focusing on the CPG or retail, with a strong track record of delivering impactful business solutions. 

• Exceptional strategic thinking with a big-picture focus. 

• Proven leadership and people management skills, with at least 4 years of experience building and developing high-performing teams. 

• Expertise in stakeholder management, ensuring collaboration and alignment across diverse teams and departments. 

• Advanced degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Physics, showcasing strong analytical skills. 

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and other programming languages to communicate effectively with technical teams. 

• Strong track record in applying data science techniques like machine learning, NLP, and predictive modelling to solve complex business problems. 

• Hands-on experience with large datasets and visualization tools, such as Power BI, for actionable insights.
