About the role

This presents an opportunity to work in the Global Headquarters of a FTSE 100 plc.  Reckitt is consistently recognised as one of the world’s most innovative companies being the producer and distributor of well-known brands such as Dettol, Durex, and Finish. This is a specialist role within the CHQ Tax department.  
As Tax Manager, you will provide support to the UK Tax Compliance and Reporting Senior Manager on a wide range of UK compliance and UK technical assignments.  The successful candidate, as will experience a wide range of exposure to the CHQ and global functions of a large multinational organisation.  
Working closely with the UK Tax Compliance and Reporting Senior Manager and other functional divisions of the department, you will play an essential role supporting delivery of the UK tax compliance obligations. 

Your responsibilities

Under the guidance of the UK Tax Compliance and Reporting Senior Manager you will work on the following:

 

UK tax compliance:
1.    Review computations and statutory accounts disclosures as prepared by our global tax compliance outsource partner for a portfolio of manufacturing, distribution and finance companies in the UK Group.  
2.    Interface with internal finance contacts and external service providers to ensure computations are accurate and prepared on a timely basis.  Research and documentation of technical issues to provide robust support to filing positions adopted.
3.    Review of accounting transactions arising in the year, whether relating to internal or external reorganisations, and the necessary disclosures required in the tax computations. 
4.    Review of statutory accounts disclosures, including reconciliation of the current and deferred tax accounts and resolve queries with external auditors.
5.    Interface with transfer pricing and international tax teams to ensure TP and CFC position documented appropriately in the UK tax computations.
6.    Review tax accounting processes and prepare documentation to enable Senior Accounting Officer sign off.
7.    Provide technical support to the Deputy Head of Tax and UK Tax Compliance and Reporting Senior Manager on HMRC enquiries, ad hoc correspondence and relationship management.
8.    Input into Quarterly Instalment Payment calculations.
9.    Interface with external providers to prepare the Research and development claims.
10.    Preparation of form CT61 for UK withholding tax.
11.    Review UK legislation updates and assess impact on Reckitt.
12.    Opportunity to prepare the annual group relief summary and UK Patent box deduction.

 

Other:
13.    Review and feedback on quarterly reporting submission in Longview from UK businesses.
14.    Input into Longview tax consolidation system and preparation of tax disclosures and audit deliverables.
15.    Provide ad hoc support to internal Legal, Finance, Company Secretarial and Tax Operations departments.
16.    Assist and support on new group projects relating to compliance and reporting.

Key Challenges:

A successful candidate will need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work closely with the other members of the Compliance and Reporting Team and build networks more widely within tax and finance.
The candidate will need to demonstrate strong accounting skills, allied with the ability to grasp concepts quickly and ensure tax consequences are accurately presented in financial results.

 

Skills & Experience:

•    University degree 
•    Accountancy qualification - ACA and / or Tax Qualified
•    Tax experience
•    Big 4 trained – desirable
•    Broad UK tax experience; good knowledge of accounting for income taxes
•    Advanced excel skills
