About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical and Automation Manager to lead and oversee the electrical and automation systems within our manufacturing and industrial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of automation and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.

Your responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical / automation systems for mfg / industrial processes; lead / coach a team of electrical engineers, automation specialists, and technicians. 
  • Develop and implement PLC, SCADA, HMI and other control systems.
  • Ensure the reliability / efficiency of electrical systems, reducing downtime and optimizing performance.
  • Manage capital projects, oversee commissioning / testing of new automation solutions and lead selection / integration of robotics, sensors, and industrial automation technologies.
  • Ensure all electrical / automation systems comply with OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and automation activities align with regulatory standards (GMP, FDA, ISO, EHS).
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical / automation system failures and implement predictive maintenance strategies using IoT and data analytics.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks across the program portfolio; implement mitigation strategies to address potential issues before they impact outcomes.
  • Develop frameworks for identifying, managing, and mitigating project risks and issues; streamline and document project workflows, ensuring consistent delivery standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and automation system failures and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and quality across project delivery.

The experience we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical or Automation Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of exp in industrial automation, electrical or controls engineering in high-volume manufacturing, food/beverage, auto, pharma, or energy sectors. 
  • Knowledge of PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, etc.), SCADA systems, and industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ISA-95 and S88 understanding / execution.
  • Experience with robotics, motion control, and IoT integration is a +.
  • Familiarity with power distribution, motor controls, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN for schematic design.
  • Project management and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of safety standards, regulatory compliance, and electrical codes.  
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., GMP, FDA, ISO 9001/13485).  
  • Experience managing budgets, resources, and timelines for large-scale initiatives.
  • Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma experience.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity for industrial automation systems.

Salary Range

$112 - 168K
