About the role
As the Engineering Project Lead, you will serve as a member of the engineering team providing technical direction and leadership in our liquids division. This role is intended to deliver key capital investment initiatives and routine master plan requirements, promoting robust development and implementation of systems and tools targeted at increasing capacity, efficient improvements, as well as asset reliability, while supporting overall plant objectives and performance. The ideal candidate will have experience in liquids manufacturing and packaging from the pharma, food/beverage and/or cosmetics industry.
Your responsibilities
Liquid Project Planning
- Develop project scopes with facility staff, engineering teams, cross-functional departments, and external resources.
- Ensure compliance with quality guidelines, FDA regulations, state/federal EHS requirements, and Reckitt engineering protocols for liquid handling.
- Prepare budgets, cash flow projections, and capital appropriation requests to support production efficiency and compliance goals.
- Design project timelines with milestone tracking and detailed scheduling for liquid processing and packaging.
Liquid Project Execution and Control
- Manage up to three direct reports, providing guidance and leadership for CapEx projects.
- Lead liquid processing projects, coordinating cross-functional teams to generate documentation including P&IDs, fluid dynamics specifications, and qualification protocols.
- Oversee contractors, construction, and installation to ensure equipment, storage tanks, and mixing vessels meet corporate standards from startup to commissioning.
- Conduct meetings to track progress, mitigate risks, and update stakeholders on system integration.
- Supervise Factory Acceptance Tests, Pre-Delivery Inspections, equipment startup, commissioning, and operator training.
- Uphold health and safety standards to protect staff and external teams.
The experience we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical) or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of engineering experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or food/beverage including 5+ years in capital project management.
- Expertise in managing multiple capital projects across diverse technical scopes (powder blending, HVAC, liquid processing, packaging, robotics, etc.).
- Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals, equipment operation, and advanced problem-solving techniques.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, and project management principles; strong mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in reading, creating, and interpreting engineering documentation (specifications, drawings, schematics).
- Skilled in structured problem-solving methods (Six Sigma, LEAN, Kaizen, 5S, root cause analysis).
- PMP certification preferred but not required.
- Proven leadership in team management and resource coordination for capital project delivery.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to influence and collaborate across all levels.
