About the role
As a Production Planner, you will oversee Finished Goods and the materials required to support efficient production operations. The role may also include purchasing packaging components such as labels, cartons, and other materials essential to packaging activities. Key responsibilities include reviewing MRP data, generating work orders and purchase orders, coordinating product changes, developing production schedules, providing shipping quantities to the logistics team, and partnering with Customer Service and Logistics Centers to prevent order cuts.
You will manage inventory levels across Logistics Centers by adjusting production plans to maintain a 99.65% pack fill rate. The position is also accountable for planning both upstream manufacturing and packaging operations.
Your responsibilities
- Review MRP data daily and create/reschedule work orders

Maintain accurate MRP settings: safety stock, lead times, planning fences, order policies, batch min/max

Coordinate finished‑goods requirements to optimize pack fill rate and inventory levels

Partner with Manufacturing, Materials, Logistics, and Planning on product changes and new launches

Plan rework or purges for rejected materials

Work with Demand and Materials Planning on finished‑goods discontinuations

Coordinate bulk availability with bulk planner/scheduler

Align production schedules with packaging‑material availability

Participate in hiring and department goal‑setting

Monitor material availability and schedule test runs for new products

Resolve forecast deviations with Demand Planning

Report weekly out‑of‑stock and distressed SKUs to Demand Planning and Customer Service

Maintain ongoing communication with Demand Planning and Project Management on changes, promotions, and new products

The experience we're looking for

AS degree preferred

Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing, planning, or purchasing

Strong business relationship‑building skills

FMCG industry experience preferred

Proficient in MRP systems (Kinaxis strongly preferred)

Solid understanding of Material Requirements Planning

Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and machine capabilities

Strong interpersonal skills; able to lead and coordinate across departments

US salary ranges
USD $88,000.00 - $132,000.00
Hiring range up to 110K

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
