About the role

The Compression & Coating Supervisor leads compression and coating operations with a focus on achieving peak efficiency, uncompromising safety, and exceptional quality standards. This role oversees diverse teams, including operators and team leads, ensuring smooth production flow and timely escalation of issues to management and support functions. With expertise across multiple departmental areas, the supervisor drives cross-functional collaboration and demonstrates adaptability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In addition, this position is recognized for championing operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives, resource optimization, and strict adherence to regulatory compliance. Align production schedules with organizational objectives, meeting demand targets while safeguarding both safety and product integrity.

Your responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Adhere strictly to all HSE standards and protocols.
  • Escalate incidents immediately and support investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA actions, ensuring outcomes are communicated.
  • Ensure monthly quality, regulatory, and safety requirements are completed.

Quality

  • Maintain full compliance with Quality and GMP standards.
  • Escalate quality issues or deviations promptly and support investigations, RCA, and CAPAs, communicating results to the team.
  • Drive Right‑First‑Time performance in batch documentation.
  • Ensure all team members are fully trained and compliant with SOPs and OJTs.

Service

  • Ensure production follows schedule and escalate deviations—including labor and shift issues—to maintain workflow continuity.

Cost

  • Own line OEE and waste KPIs; drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead escalation for line stoppages or under‑target OEE.
  • Coordinate support resources for priority lines.
  • Oversee OEE reporting, including hourly updates and accurate shift reviews.
  • Partner with line teams to reduce waste and improve OEE; implement TRM actions.
  • Maintain visual management and clearly communicate KPI goals and results.

People

  • Ensure all training is current and complete.
  • Escalate absences and lateness; support disciplinary processes as needed.
  • Support recognition programs to build engagement.
  • Develop and mentor team leads and operators to strengthen capability and morale.
  • Maintain safety and quality compliance during high‑volume production periods.

Projects

  • Support trials and intervention activities during shifts.
  • Oversee AQL checks for trials and new product introductions.

The experience we're looking for

  • High school diploma with 10+ years of experience, or a bachelor’s in Engineering, Business, or related field with 3+ years in pharmaceutical production management.
  • Packaging experience in vitamin, food, chemical, or pharmaceutical environments required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • SAP and Quality Systems knowledge preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes.
  • Proven leadership with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Embraces change and delivers innovative, practical solutions.
  • Demonstrates creativity, problem‑solving, persistence, and resilience; influences others and fosters teamwork.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational abilities.
  • Experienced working in cross‑functional teams and building relationships at all levels.

US salary ranges

USD $88,000.00 -  $132,000.00

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
