About the role

The Supervisor for Dispensing, Blending, and Granulation directs daily manufacturing operations across key upstream OSD processes, ensuring optimal efficiency, strict safety compliance, and consistent product quality. This role oversees teams of operators and leads, managing workflow coordination, troubleshooting production issues, and escalating concerns promptly to management and cross‑functional support groups. With broad expertise across multiple processing areas, the supervisor fosters strong collaboration, operational flexibility, and effective decision‑making in a fast‑paced production environment.

In addition, this position plays a critical role in driving operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives, resource utilization, and unwavering adherence to cGMP and regulatory requirements. The Supervisor ensures production plans are executed in alignment with organizational demands, meeting schedule targets while maintaining rigorous safety standards and protecting product integrity throughout dispensing, blending, and granulation operations.

Your responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Ensure strict adherence to all HSE standards and protocols.
  • Escalate incidents immediately and support follow-up investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA implementation, ensuring outcomes are communicated to the team.
  • Ensure team completion of all monthly quality, regulatory, and safety requirements.

Quality

  • Maintain full compliance with quality and GMP standards.
  • Escalate quality issues or deviations promptly and support investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA actions, ensuring results are communicated to the team.
  • Drive Right-First-Time performance in batch documentation.
  • Ensure all team members are fully trained and compliant with SOPs and OJTs.

Service

  • Ensure production adheres to the established schedule and escalate any deviations, including labor and shift allocation, to maintain workflow continuity.

Cost

  • Take ownership of line OEE and waste performance KPIs, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead escalation processes for line stoppages and under-target OEE performance.
  • Coordinate support function resources for priority lines.
  • Oversee OEE reporting, ensuring hourly updates and accurate shift reviews.
  • Work with line teams to identify waste and OEE improvement opportunities and implement actions supporting TRMs.
  • Maintain visual management standards and communicate KPI targets and performance clearly.

People

  • Ensure all departmental training is complete and up to date.
  • Escalate absences and lateness to the Area Manufacturing Manager and support disciplinary processes as required.
  • Support employee recognition programs to foster engagement and motivation.
  • Develop and mentor team leads and operators to improve workforce capability and engagement.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards during high-volume production cycles.

Projects

  • Support trials and intervention activities during shifts in the area.
  • Supervise AQL checks for trials and new product introductions.

 

The experience we're looking for

  • A high school diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of experience is required, or a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field with at least 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical production management.
  • Previous packaging experience in a vitamin, food, chemical, or pharmaceutical environment is essential.
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams, is required.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Quality Systems is preferred.
  • A strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes is necessary.
  • Demonstrates proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams effectively.
  • Shows a strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Embraces change and consistently thinks outside the box to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Possesses entrepreneurial skills, including creativity, problem-solving, persistence, and resilience, while influencing others and fostering teamwork and commitment.
  • Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communication abilities.

US salary ranges

USD $88,000.00 -  $132,000.00

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
