About the role

The PMO & VSU Manager is a dynamic, execution‑driven leadership role that anchors disciplined project delivery and champions flawless Vertical Start-Up (VSU) performance. This leader ensures new production lines, major equipment installations, and ramp-up activities transition from concept to operational reality with speed, precision, and excellence. In this role, the PMO & VSU Manager orchestrates the seamless execution of critical program and project elements—delivering on time, within scope, and aligned to strategic business priorities. It’s a highly hands-on, collaborative position that drives cross-functional momentum, strengthens project communications, and establishes clear accountability across all stakeholders. This role brings rigor and rhythm to the organization by embedding project management discipline, enforcing RAID and Change Control processes, and ensuring every initiative progresses with transparency, alignment, and measurable impact.

In short: this role sets the pace, raises the bar, and ensures every launch is executed with confidence, clarity, and operational excellence.

Your responsibilities

  • Drive disciplined, end‑to‑end project execution by managing scope, schedule, budget, daily task completion, milestone adherence, and cross‑functional collaboration while applying consistent project management methodologies, maintaining high‑quality documentation, and monitoring KPIs to ensure accountability and delivery excellence.
  • Lead RAID governance by maintaining active logs, identifying and escalating risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies, facilitating mitigation planning, ensuring ownership, and conducting regular reviews to keep projects on track.
  • Manage change control rigorously by enforcing procedures, evaluating scope impacts, securing required approvals, maintaining change logs, and communicating updates to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate teams and stakeholders effectively by ensuring clear ownership of deliverables, running project meetings and status reviews, communicating risks and decisions transparently, and maintaining alignment with project goals and expectations.
  • Lead full-cycle VSU execution—from feasibility through results validation—by developing high‑level and detailed VSU plans, defining technical success criteria, OEE targets, and CQV requirements, enabling FAT/SAT readiness, coordinating commissioning and verification activities, conducting readiness and safety assessments, and driving action management through VSU risk logs and PDCA reporting.
  • Ensure operational readiness and first‑time‑right startup by aligning OEM partners and all internal functions, deploying operator training and RPS standards, managing capability development, and accelerating the transition from installation to steady‑state performance with minimal downtime and maximum reliability.

This role is not currently sponsoring visas or considering international movement at this time.

The experience we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field, with PMP/PgMP or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on project management experience, including work within or closely with a PMO.
  • Proven success coordinating cross‑functional teams in a matrixed environment and managing complex, large‑scale project timelines.
  • Strong capability in governance, resource management, and structured project reporting.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma) is a valuable plus.

The skills for success

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage complex schedules, resources, and cross-functional deliverables with precision.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate teams in a matrixed environment with clear communication and accountability.
  • Proficiency in PMO practices, governance, and structured reporting, with the ability to apply consistent methodologies.
  • Skilled in risk, issue, and change management with a disciplined, proactive approach to mitigation and escalation.
  • Analytical and process‑improvement mindset, with experience applying structured methodologies such as Six Sigma (preferred).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, enabling alignment and clarity across diverse groups.
