About the role

The Level III Packaging Operator plays a key role in supporting the daily operation of packaging assets to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production. This position works closely with the Lead Operator by assisting with task coordination, monitoring equipment and workflow performance, and communicating issues promptly to help maintain steady and reliable operations. The Level III Operator contributes to meeting scheduled production goals while following all regulatory, quality, and organizational requirements.

 

In addition, the position demonstrates flexibility across multiple areas of the department and supports training efforts by sharing technical knowledge, reinforcing best practices, and providing on‑the‑floor assistance to team members. Through active problem‑solving, clear communication, and a focus on continuous improvement, this role helps strengthen team effectiveness and supports a culture of accountability and operational excellence.

Your responsibilities

Health, Safety and Environment

  • Support a safety‑first culture by following all HSE standards and reinforcing safe behaviors across the shift.

  • Respond promptly to safety incidents by notifying the Lead or Supervisor and assisting with investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA activities as directed.

  • Maintain accountability by completing all required monthly BSO activities accurately and on time.

Quality

  • Uphold strict compliance with all Quality and GMP requirements to ensure each batch meets internal and regulatory expectations.

  • Proactively identify and escalate deviations, supporting investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA actions under guidance from the Lead or Quality.

  • Contribute to Right First Time documentation by completing records accurately, clearly, and in an audit‑ready manner.

  • Help maintain quality and safety excellence during high‑volume production cycles through consistent monitoring and communication.

  • Support smooth operations by executing production activities according to the established schedule and shift priorities.

Cost

  • Contribute to operational efficiency by supporting OEE improvement and waste‑reduction efforts.

  • Follow escalation protocols for extended stoppages or declining OEE performance to help minimize downtime.

  • Identify and communicate opportunities to improve performance, reduce waste, and enhance asset reliability.

People

  • Ensure required training for self is current and support team training accuracy through proper documentation and adherence to standards.

  • Support day‑to‑day shift activities for assigned packaging assets, helping the team meet production targets.

  • Promote a positive work environment by participating in recognition efforts and encouraging team engagement.

  • Provide input during the temp‑to‑hire evaluation process when requested to support strong hiring decisions.

  • Serve as an area trainer by delivering hands‑on instruction to new hires and experienced team members on updated standards, equipment changes, and best practices.

The experience we're looking for

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Quality Systems, and manufacturing/supply chain processes preferred.
  • Strong adaptability with a forward‑thinking, problem‑solving mindset.
  • Demonstrates initiative, resilience, and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work in a dynamic environment.
  • Skilled in building productive relationships across all levels and contributing within multifunctional teams.
  • Thrives in fast‑changing environments and remains objective, logical, and calm under pressure.

US salary ranges

$22.50 - $37.50 per hour depending on experience

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
