The Production Manager is responsible for the End-to-End Performance of his/her production area and a key member of the Operations Leadership team.  This Manager will set the strategy their production area, ensuring to embed a ‘Safety First, Quality Always’ culture and engaging everyone in the operational strategy. This position is responsible for leading a cross functional Focus team to delivery against business results while focusing on the development of their team.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop leaders and build a culture of high performers by providing visible leadership and role modeling the “Safety first, Quality Always”, culture. 
  •             Builds technical competencies within the production team, identifying and selecting new team members that support developing technological needs and by providing opportunity for knowledge acquisition and transfer of team members that support developing technological needs and by providing opportunity for knowledge acquisition and transfer within the team.  
  •             Effectively managing the production area (people, equipment, and processes) to meet all operational goals and ensure customer service.  
  •             Develops and implements solutions to resolve complex manufacturing issues using the adequate CI tools (MOS, RPS, TPM, Root Cause Analysis, etc.)
  •             Clearly understands the regulatory environment and MJN policies for the operations and ensures production systems, documentation and processes are complying and provides resources to train and develop production staff on these areas.
  •             Creates, identifies and implements new and innovative solutions and technologies in support of improved safety, quality, customer service, GMP and continuous improvement and products on time. 
  •             Obtains and allocates the necessary resources to meet short- and long-term unit/business objectives.  
  •             Translates best practices between teams and throughout the facility.
  •             Develops and manages budgets/projections and production standards for production area.  This position is accountable for performance and ongoing reporting to ensure that objectives are met.

The experience we're looking for

  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility and/or four-year degree preferred.
  • Experience working with the FDA and/or other regulatory agencies preferred.          
  • Experience in Liquid Processing, Powder Drying, Blending, and Canning operations of food products is preferred
  • Experience using continuous improvement tools to drive significant business results in key metrics
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Experience leading and developing a manufacturing department, using CI tools, achieving financial and operational goals, and working cross functionally.
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule including overtime and weekends as needed
