About the role
The Sr. Project Engineer, Industrial Sustainability and Utilities is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the utilities and sustainability projects for a large scale, brownfield plant expansion. The utilities and sustainability scope are part of a multi-story manufacturing plant, warehouse, offices, employee amenities, laboratories, and related scope such as roads and parking. This role involves ensuring that utilities and sustainability projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Utilities and Sustainability Project Engineer works closely with other engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver successful solutions.
Your responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and execution of utilities and sustainability solutions for new assets while ensuring designs meet required regulatory, safety, environmental, and industry standards.
- Drive sustainable practices across various departments. This position plays a pivotal role in our commitment to environmental responsibility and social sustainability.
- Lead initiatives to optimize new utilities assets, focusing on optimization.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Work to reduce resource consumption, improve environmental impact and comply with environmental regulations.
- Work closely with Project teams and cross functional teams (R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing) to align utilities and sustainability with overall business objectives and ensure seamless integration into production.
- Responsibilities may include documentation management and an understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) as well of implementation of FDA standards.
- Creation and management of change requests within the document control system.
- Responsible for the success of the utilities and sustainability projects execution, including but not limited to their commissioning and validation.
The experience we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field,
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in utilities or process engineering or related field. Experience leading sustainability projects is a positive differentiator.
- Understanding of FDA, GMP, ASTM, and ISO guidelines.
- Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams, and a passion for advancing sustainability and social responsibility within the organization.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., Revit, Microsoft Project, Autodesk ACC and AutoCAD).
