About the role

The Process Engineering Sr. Manager leads the process engineering aspects for project VIVID across both the new routine and specialty plants from start to finish. They provide input to the process design, build and commissioning stages of the project. They ensure that these aspects are completed in line with the project schedule.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure up to date technology and manufacturing methods are built into the equipment design: Ensure the equipment and facilities covered by Vivid are selected to ensure current and future needs.
  • Ensure Hygienic design and food safety elements are built into the project: Collaborate with the cross-functional team to embed HD design principles into the project.  These must be based on global best practices such as, but not limited to 3A and EDHEG standards. Develop effective plans for Plant CIP / COP / Master Sanitation.  Apply the understanding of HACCP, GMPs and regulatory requirements to process design and qualifications.
  • Cross-functional coordination: Work with other teams to ensure the project design and implementation is successful and work to remove barriers to execution.
  • Manage risks: Identify and manage risks that could delay the project or damage its delivery against the URS
  • Manage and communicates with stakeholders: Manage expectations of stakeholders and internal customers. Ensures the Technical Director, the supply team and the R&D team are kept up to date on all developments in project Vivid. Raises critical issues in a timely manner.

The experience we're looking for

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in infant formula process engineering and manufacturing
  • Knowledge of FDA, USDA, and state food safety regulations
  • Experience in CIP, Liquid Milk Processing, Spray Drying, Blending, Powder Transport
  • Knowledge of nutritional products, food chemistry, analytical sampling and testing, and product formulation strongly desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Ability to travel as needed to support the project

The skills for success

- Strong background in manufacturing technology, ideally in pharmaceuticals or the FMCG industry.
- Knowledge of pertinent UK, EU, and FDA standards and legislation.
- Proven leadership, with the ability to nurture teams and influence at multiple levels.
- Solid understanding of material properties and manufacturing technology.
- Experience working with various teams using adaptable communication strategies.
- Skilled in establishing and fostering relationships with business partners and managing external contracts effectively.

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
