About the role
Are you ready to dive into numbers and drive success? As a Senior Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with tax regulations, overseeing accurate and timely tax filings, and supporting the organisation with expert guidance on complex tax matters. You will analyse financial data to identify risks and opportunities, contribute to tax planning initiatives, and work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain strong financial controls. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate a dynamic regulatory environment.
Your responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation, review, and submission of all tax filings (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential impacts on business operations.
- Conduct tax analyses to identify risks, opportunities, and optimisation areas.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and operational teams to resolve tax‑related issues.
- Provide clear and actionable tax guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Support transfer pricing documentation, reporting, and compliance where applicable.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of tax processes and internal controls.
- Prepare data for Hyperinflation Accounting and support related reporting activities.
- Execute e‑ledger (e‑Defter) processes periodically in accordance with local regulations.
- Preferably have experience with Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) refund processes.
- Review contracts from a Stamp Tax perspective to ensure compliance and correct tax treatment.
- Evaluate cross‑border invoices in terms of withholding tax and Reverse Charge obligations, ensuring proper classification and reporting.
- Perform Corporate Income Tax (CIT) calculations and prepare supporting working papers for the annual tax return.
The experience we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting.
- Preferably 4 - 5 years of experience in tax compliance, tax advisory, or financial reporting, preferably in tax compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Turkish tax legislation and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Professional certification CPA is an advantage.
- Proven experience in tax functions within multinational companies or audit firms.
- Deep expertise in tax legislation (e.g., VAT, Corporate Income Tax).
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
